Lemonade with a twist in it! This lemonade is a healthy and refreshing drink with all the delicious flavours in it. There are varieties of lemonade found throughout the world. The thing I love the most about this classic lemonade is how versatile it is. We can mix different flavors and try things out of the box with this and it'll still be as refreshing and as flavourful as a simple lemonade.This drink is a remix of the classic lemonade.


Lemons are one of my favorites. I love fresh lemon juice in homemade Lemonade, food dishes, and almost everything. Lemons are wonderfully useful and so good for you!


All my life I have loved lemons as it just makes me happy, I am not that sure why. Lemons have a lot of health benefits. Lemon juice is one of the best sources of vitamin C which helps to boost your immune system. If you feel a cold coming on, start increasing your lemon juice intake. Lemon juice also helps reduce inflammation and that sour flavor can help detox your liver to cleanse your body.

Everyday morning I drink warm water with lemon juice, honey and chia seeds in it. It activates my body.


My Husband and I drink everyday lemon water, so I buy two to three bags of lemons and preserve it.

Fresh squeezed lemon juice will keep in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks before it loses its vibrance and freshness. Keep it in a glass mason jar and use in salsas, drinks or any recipe that calls for lemon juice.





LEMONADE WITH JAGGERY


Together, the goodness of lemon and jaggery can keep your digestive system clean and your respiratory system clear. To make this drink, you will need only a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Water- 1 glass

  • Jaggery/ Cane sugar- 8 tbsp

  • Mint- 10 - 11 leaves

  • Lemons- 1 - 2

  • Salt- 1/4 tsp

  • Ice Cubes- optional

How to Prepare:

  1. Take water in a jug and mix the jaggery powder. Stir it till it dissolves. Alternately, you can also make a simple syrup using water and jaggery, for this mix jaggery and water together and bring it to a boil. This ensures that the jaggery powder dissolves completely. Make sure you cool the syrup down before making the lemonade. (See Below to make the Jaggery syrup)

  2. After the jaggery powder is dissolved completely, add the other ingredients and mix well.

  3. Make sure that the salt has dissolved completely.

  4. In a glass, add ice cubes, a lemon slice and a few mint leaves if you like and pour in the lemonade.

  5. Stir it and enjoy!

To make Jaggery syrup you will need:

  • 1 part jaggery

  • 2 parts water

How to make it:

  • Take 1 cup jaggery and 2 cups water.

  • Mix jaggery and water in a saucepan,

  • Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for 5 to10 minutes.

  • Give it a stir in between.

  • I did take the mixture to single string consistency. Just when I knew the mixture had thickened a bit turned the fire off.

  • Allow the syrup to cool, transfer it to a bottle/jar and store it in the refrigerator.

  • Use this syrup in lemonade as required.


A glass of lemonade I make has ice cubes with two teaspoons of lemon juice, jaggery to taste, a generous pinch each of salt, dried mint leaves and roasted cumin powder.
